Biography
Nataliia Otrishchenko is a sociologist and coordinator of oral history projects at the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe, a privately funded academic NGO in Lviv. Since March 2022, she has headed the Ukrainian team of the 24/02/22, 5 am: Testimonies from the War documentation initiative. She has been a PI in the international research project Researching the Collecting, Preserving, Analyzing, and Disclosing of Ukrainian War Testimonies (U-CORE) since January 2024.
At ZOiS, she works on the Gaining Epistemic Authority: Ukrainian Scholars in Global Academia project as part of the Ukraine Research Network@ZOiS. In this project, she focuses on individual and institutional practices of gaining the right of interpretation and reconfiguring East European studies. She is particularly interested in the different strategies Ukrainian scholars apply to become more visible and promote structural changes. She intends to show the connections between these developments and the situation in Ukrainian academic institutions.
