The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) brings together four Central Asian states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan – with Russia and China and, as of the SCO’s last summit on 8–9 June 2017, India and Pakistan. Its remit is broad, the practical achievements modest.
