Focus Group Data Collection Begins in Canada and Germany!
The project has started focus group data collection in Canada and Germany! We conduct focus groups with young adults and their parents to explore the intergenerational transmission of historical and political attitudes. Discussions, implemented in cooperation with local partners, take place online and in two stages. We first interview two generations separately and then bring family members together. Both family members discuss historical events and processes, their political stances, and the relevance of historical topics and memories in their families. Due to this innovative intergenerational design, the focus groups will provide unique qualitative insights into family dynamics and parent-offspring agreement on politics and history.
