New Publications on the Perspectives of People with a Russian Background in Germany
The MoveMeRU project recently produced two publications based on data from our surveys in Germany.
In the ZOiS Spotlight "The endless hourglass? The living legacy of Soviet history in Germany", Hakob Matevosyan analyses how Russia tries to influence people with a (Soviet) Russian background in Germany through distorted historical representations. The study shows that their views on the Soviet Union and the fall of communism differ from those of the general population.
The ZOiS report "Mit Russlandhintergrund in Deutschland: Ansichten zu Politik, Gesellschaft und Geschichte" [With a Russian Background in Germany: Views on Politics, Society and History], written by Félix Krawatzek and Hakob Matevosyan, provides a first comprehensive insight into the surveys conducted. The report sheds light on the political, social and historical views of people with a Russian background and compares these with the general German population.
