Ukraine's future membership in the EU and the official negotiation process, which recently began, turn a spotlight on a variety of topics. These include challenges like the effects of population displacement on the economy, access to quality education, the role of civil society, the impact of war on media and culture, and the immense task of reconstruction. Research can offer new insights into these ongoing challenges, providing valuable information for policymaking.
To mark the completion of the first two waves of the Ukraine Research Network@ZOiS (UNET) Fellowship Programme, we are hosting an event at the Centre for East European and International Studies. This will be an opportunity to meet the UNET fellows in Berlin, explore key research findings and discuss the policy implications in depth and in person.
Research by scholarship holders from Ukraine and Germany on critical issues relating to the war will be presented. Topics include displacement, education, reconstruction, civil society, popular culture, religion and disinformation.
